The 22-day BEST OF NAMIBIA tour takes you across Namibia, giving some of the best scenery, animal, and ethnic experiences.

The itinerary can be specially customized to offer mixed accommodations, and it can be booked in part as a fly-in safari.

Families with kids, small groups, and travel companions/couples are all welcome.

We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.

Pick-up from Windhoek and transfer south to the Kalahari Desert.

In the afternoon optional activities provided by the lodge.

Accommodation: 1 night in Kalahari at Kalahari Anib Lodge or similar.

Visit at the Fish River Canyon, second largest in the World, after Colorado in United States.

Main viewing points provide spectacular place for the exotic landscape photography! Early morning or at the sunset, canyon and the desert comes to life with hues and shades of light – providing fascinating artistic vistas.

Optional activities:

  • Visit to Quiver Tree Forest & Giant Playground.

Accommodation for 1 night near Fish River Canyon at Canyon Roadhouse or similar.

Travelling distance: around 350km (tarred and gravel roads).

Duration: around 4 hours with the stop-over.

On trail of the desert horses (Feral Horses of Namibia), which have incredibly adapted to the harsh, dry and often unmerciful desert conditions.

Admiring these incredible creatures, we are charmed by the everchanging landscape, unending horizon and beauty of the Namib.

After arrival in Luderitz, visit to the historical granite cross, known as the Diaz Cross, set in the sands of the Namib by Portuguese sailor Diaz, when he first landed at the Namibian coast centuries ago.

In the afternoon if time permitting, visit to Agate Beach and if lucky, you may find one for yourself.

Today visit to the famous „Ghost Town” of Kolmanskop, deserted diamond town, around 10 km from Luderitz.

Moving on to the Sossusvlei, the highest and the oldest dunes in the World! On the way admiring picturesque vistas and incredible desert landscape.

Duration: around 7 hours with the stop-over.

Early morning before sunrise, drive towards Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei – a place of the highest dunes in the World, set in the midst of the World’s oldest desert. Unique chance for spectacular landscape photography! Climbing scenic Dune 45, while enjoying incredible desert vistas and ever changing scenery of the Namib. Off-road trail takes us to Dead Vlei where ancient, dried up acacias stand amidst the orange dunes creating surreal landscape. Optional hiking the ‚Big Daddy’ dune and afterwards visit to Sossusvlei with optional hiking the ‚Big Mama’ dune, hike through spectacular rock formations of the Sesriem Canyon.

Traveling distance: around 150 km on tar, gravel and sand roads.

Today traveling through the Namib-Naukluft Park, admiring dried up Kuiseb riverbed and Kuised Canyon. On route, crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn. In the afternoon, arrival at the coastal town-oasis Swakopmund.

Magnificent landscape of the Namib reaches as far as eye can see. Wildlife, grazing antelopes: kudu, oryx and springbuck, mountain zebras, giraffes and World’s biggest ‚birds that don’t fly’ ostriches.

On arrival at the coast, short visit to Walvis Bay Lagoon to admire flocks of Greater and Lesser Flamingos.

Accommodation: 2 nights in Swakopmund at Alte Brucke Resort or similar.

Traveling distance: around 350 km (gravel road).

Duration: 5 hours with stop-overs and lunch break.

In the morning, relaxing walk through picturesque, coastal town of Swakopmund. Visit at the local ‚open-air’ curio market, admiring, as well as shopping for an attractive and colorful, African artifacts. After lunch, escapade to spectacular Moon Valley and Welwitchia mirabilis trails – desert plant and botanical attraction; one of the oldest known plants on Earth, called by the botanists the ‚living fossil’.

Optional attractions:

  • Dolphin Cruise & Sandwich Harbour excursion, only in the morning  
  • Quad bike tour into the coastal dunes. 
  • Visit at fascinating Crystal Gallery – exhibition of magnificent, Namibian crystals, some of the biggest specimen in the World, as well as rich selection of semi-precious stones. 
  • Visit at the Snake Park – indigenous Namibian species including most poisons ones, such as: Black Mamba, Puff Adder, Cape Cobra, Gaboon Adder, Boom snake, Zebra Snake, as well as Pythons, grass and sand snakes.

Salt road along the Atlantic Coast takes us further north. On the way, visit to the largest fur seal colony with short stop-over at the historical Cape Cross, where in 1486, Portuguese sailor Diego Cao set up a granite cross in tribute of the King of Portugal, after landing on the Namibian coast.

Turning east, inland – we are on route to the mountainous Brandberg Massif with the highest Namibian peak, Konigstein, towering 2574m above sea level.

Accommodation: 1 night in Damaraland at White Lady Lodge or similar.

Distance: about 300 km on salt and gravel roads.

Early in the morning, further on trough scenic Damaraland and to visit Twyfelfontein – UNESCO World Heritage Site, where over 2000 rock engravings created by Bushmen are found in the rusty rocks and mountains. Engravings picture animals, hunters and hunting, people and their lifestyle.

  • Ethnic visit at the ‚Living Museum’ presenting Damara culture. 
  • Visit to the ‚Petrified Forrest’. 
  • Visit to Organ Pipes & Burn Mountain.

Duration: around 6 hours including sightseeing and lunch.

After breakfast, we are venturing further into Kaokoland, to Opuwo, capital of this northern region. The next day we will visit original  semi-nomadic Himba village. One of the last, pastoral tribes on Earth, who continue to keep their traditional ancient way of life, as they did for hundreds of years. Unique chance for ethnic photography!

In the morning, unforgettable visit to the Himba village, learning about their nomadic way of life. Unique opportunity to observe exotic culture and customs. The Himba are a tribe of semi-nomadic pastoralis, who inhabit the Kaokoland, in northern Namibia. They have clung to their traditions, and the beautiful Himba women are noted for their orange-colored skin, intricate hairstyles and traditional jewelry. Himba men and women wear few clothes, apart from a loin cloth or goat-skin mini-skirt, they rub their bodies with mixture of red ochre and animal fat to protect themselves against sun, insects and to condition their skin. It gives Himba’s skin characteristic rich, red color. Himba jewelry is made from iron, animal skin or shell, and due to the intricate designs, have become very popular among the visiting tourists. Visit at the Himba village creates superb opportunity for spectacular ethnic photography! After morning adventure, time for lunch and afternoon rest.

After visit to the Himba village we are heading further north in direction of Kunene River to admire Epupa Falls. Kunene creates natural border between Namibia and Angola.

On our way to spectacular nature reserve – Etosha National Park! Etosha is dedicated to protecting wildlife of African bush and savannah. Its beauty and natural charm simply overwhelms the visitor! Wild animals inhabit enormous regions of grassy savannah. Harmony and balance of nature fills the viewer with tranquil peace and serenity. Live ‚theatre of nature’ at its best!

On safari trails of Etosha! We are tracking wildlife in its own natural habitat, observing herds of elephants, zebras, hyenas, variety of the antelopes (kudu, oryx, impalas, eland, springbok, gnu) giraffes, rhino, jackals and birds of prey. Searching for big cats of Etosha: cheetah and leopard, and for ‚king of the savannah’ – the lion.

At the waterholes, in calm and stillness, we are observing wild animals coming for a drink of water after a hot day. Evenings spent at the waterhole, watching and admiring rich variety of wildlife. Till late at night, we are captivated by incredible nature show! Fantastic opportunity for unforgettable photographic moments!

Today full day unlimited game drive in Etosha from sunrise till sunset.

We say good bye to Etosha National Park & traveling east to Bushman Land, to meet this exotic tribe of Africa.

Visit to the village (living museum)  in the afternoon for about 2 hours to learn their culture & way of life.

Driving north east to Caprivi Strip, Namibia’s wetlands, in the afternoon game drive in Mahango National Park that is situated on the banks of Okavango River.

Arrival at the lodge in the afternoon for relaxing time on the banks of Okavango River.

In the morning after breakfast, we are driving south to Civilization.

Arrival at Waterberg Plateau in the afternoon and you are invited to climb to the top of the plateau for breath taking views.

It’s a great place for birding.

After relaxing breakfast, we are on our way back to Windhoek, Capital of Namibia.

We will drop you off at any hotel or airport for your departure flight.
